Our Data Center Facilities Deliver the Highest Levels of Security and Reliability
Data Center Locations Safe in the Center of the U.S.A.
Dakota Backup's primary data center facility is located in western South Dakota, far from the reaches of the hurricanes and earthquakes which threaten the coasts. In addition, we have redundant servers more than 300 miles away in eastern South Dakota in a secondary secure data center.
In addition to protecting your data from physical disasters, we also protect your data with the latest encryption algorithms (encrypted at your site) in a climate-controlled, secure facility delivering the highest level of security and server reliability.
Data Center Facility Features

Our facilities feature 24-7 video surveillance, secure-card access, and ongoing monitoring for quick resolution of hardware and software issues. All data stored online is replicated in real-time to our disaster recovery site 350 miles away for the ultimate in disaster recovery and continuity.
Our data facility is staffed and monitored around the clock, year-round. Our staff is experienced in quickly resolving hardware and software issues. In addition, the latest network and server monitoring technology instantly detects problems and ensures immediate resolution.
Our Data Center — Reliable, Scalable, Fault Tolerant
Dakota Backup's data center was designed to be reliable, high-performance, scalable and fault tolerant. Our network backbone is built with Cisco equipment, the world leader in Internet network gear. Every part of the network — switches, routers and firewalls — has a redundant "stand-in" that instantly becomes operational in the event of a hardware failure. As a result, most network problems result in no lost data or connections.
Beyond our edge routers, our network is completely switched and centers around a redundant gigabit fiber backbone. Extra fiber is pre-wired to each row, allowing us to add new capacity quickly and meet additional bandwidth requirements as needed.
