Our company was founded in 2005 when current senior partners saw a deficiency in the industry's existing data backup services and disaster recovery solutions. Today, the Dakota Backup & Recovery team continues to explore new technologies and improved solutions to remain a leading business continuity and disaster recovery solution provider.
We are an affiliate of KT Connections, Inc. and Ketel Thorstenson, LLP. With a staff of more than 150 professionals, Ketel Thorstenson is the region’s largest accounting firm and has been in business for more than 70 years. KT Connections, Inc. is the leading technology solution provider in western South Dakota and has been in business for 15 years.

Where Are We?
The answer to that question is the very same as the location of your vital company resources when they’re safely and securely stored and protected by our data backup services. We’re located in Rapid City, South Dakota; home to Mount Rushmore and the granite mountains of the Black Hills. Given our location near the center of North America and our lack of natural disasters, our physical location is one of the safest in the US. We operate from two Tier III and SAS 70 Type II data centers with 24-7 video surveillance, secure-card access, and environmental monitoring.
